Best Hot Spots in Hamilton

Hamilton is fast becoming the new hot spot, with many GTA residents moving to this port city that is thriving at every turn.

It's a culturally diverse city that is home to historic sites, museums, theatres, parks, outdoor trails, and the famous CFL team, the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. If you still aren't convinced, here are 5 of Hamilton's best summer hot spots.

Best Walking Trail

Bayfront Park Trail

This 1.482km pathway is not only great for walking, but also for jogging, cycling and in-line skating. There's room for everyone on the 6m wide waterfront trail that connects Pier 4 Park to the new Hamilton Harbour Waterfront Trail. One of the trail's biggest features are the amazing views of the surrounding harbour area and the wildflowers, trees, and shrubs. Bayfront Park can be accessed in 10 minutes or less by car from many of our buildings, including William Thomas, Regency on Main, and St. John's Place!

Best Beach

Confederation Beach

Sitting along the shores of Lake Ontario, Confederation Beach is by far the best beach in Hamilton. It features plenty of park space, some amazing restaurants, volleyball courts, a splash pad and, of course, a sandy beach. It's a fantastic place for families, couples and friends wanting to enjoy a hot summer day. Bring a picnic lunch, go for a scenic walk along the promenade, or splash around at Wild Waterworks. This incredible beach can be accessed in under 20 minutes by car from our apartments on Upper Wentworth, including 1220 Upper Wentworth and 1477 Upper Wentworth.

Best Ice Cream

Henry Brown's

A local favourite, Henry Brown's can be found in the Hamilton Farmers' Market. Ice cream is made on site and only in small batches using natural, organic, and local ingredients. It's somewhat of an institution among Hamiltonians, with flavours changing according to the season. Flavours currently featured include Rich Chocolate Orange, Wild Raspberry, De La Terre Brownie, and Smooth Mango. Walk to the Farmers' Market in about 15 minutes from our 30 West and 316 King William buildings.

Best Patio

Jack & Lois

The most desired summer spot in Hamilton, Jack & Lois's patio is a hidden gem on the busy James Street North. It's accessible through the side entrance on Barton Street and is large enough to cater to many guests while still feeling like a cozy city hideaway. Its beach-themed murals and wooden furniture set the perfect atmosphere for enjoying a sangria, a glass of wine, or a cold beer. They also make a magnificent brunch, and their Mac N' Cheese is to die for. Drive down to the patio in 5 minutes from our 40 West apartment building.

Best Summer Festival

Festival of Friends

This annual three-day festival is the largest of its kind in the entire country! The Festival of Friends takes place during the first weekend of August, and features three stages of live music, over 100 crafters and artisans booths, and food from across the globe. This year's list of performers include Tom Cochrane with Red Rider, Sam Roberts Band, High Valley, and more. Best of all, admission is completely free, so load up the car and drive over in under 20 minutes from Trieste Place or Columbus Place.
